In-depth/intelligent conversation...to much to ask for ??? (Baton Rouge)

One of the biggest problems I find in this world is fundamentally centered around most peoples inability to engage in a conversation that doesn't include gossip, movies/music, sports, or the opposite sex. In my mind it is just so much mind numbing useless information, of coarse I am not a normal conformist sort of person either.

I have been searching for those out there who share my desire for in-depth and intelligent conversation, the kind of conversations that leaves you with a more open mind, and just maybe a few new perspectives. So far I have found a handful, but I seek more. They have to be out there, we can't be the only ones. My ideal is something similar to the discussion groups that were prevalent in the later part of the 1800's, and earlier part of the 1900's. We meet, we talk, we learn, we argue...in the end we are a little closer to understanding each other better, and maybe change our way of thinking if we are lucky.

Currently I am involved in 2 groups, one is for men, the other is for men and women. If you care to join either of these groups and add you wit, ideas, thoughts, and perspectives, please do...
