I'm a non smoker, pretty laid back, studious. I like beer, but I'm not going to be doing keg stands every weekend. I'd prefer roommates who are also non-smokers, not huge partiers, and who won't mind living with a very people-oriented (not to mention fluffy and adorable) dog. I do not care if you are straight, gay, male, female, black, white, blue, from outer space, whatever, just so long as you're relatively clean, respectful, and mature. I'd like to be within 0-10 miles of LSU, the close the better. I'd love to be able to ride my bike to campus, but it's not a necessity.

Hey guys, hope everyone's day is going well...I need a helping hand or three and so I am going to tell you a bit about myself and my situation.
I am 42 yrs. old, an ex over-the-road truck driver for 20+ years, and am now disabled and barely able to still walk.
I moved down here from my home state of Kansas last November seeking warmth because I knew I could not survive another brutally cold Kansas winter with no heat and no running water.
I live in an old 1986 35 foot Jayco fifth wheel travel trailer that belonged to me Dad before he died a week before Christmas 2005.
It has no heat, no AC and no running HOT water now. I did get the cold fixed finally. The roof leaks and is covered with a tarp.
I have no friends, no not a soul down here and have no family. My Dad is dead, mother left when I was a month and a half old and I have only a couple half brothers left with lives of their own and no concerns for me.
I raised my daughter Tara on my own since she was 4 months old until she went to stay with her Dad a couple years ago because with my health and finances I was overwhelmed.
She is coming back home to live as soon as Fall Break starts. She is 15 now and a good kid. My landlord FREAKED out and said if I dare bring a "TEENAGER" into his trailer park I am immediately evicted.
I have lived here quietly for a year this month, and never caused a second's trouble. I am very intensely private and very quiet. I keep to myself. Never late on rent.
My rent has been $350 a month and that included Water, Sewer, Electric and Trash. I paid Phone, Internet, Cable and Propane.
The problem is this: Tags are expired on my trailer and my truck (1987 Ford F250 Diesel) is on its last legs and unable to pull it anyway.
Even if I had somewhere to take it, I have bigger problems. I meet with a neurosurgeon the 18th of December to schedule back surgery.
I cannot get a home health aide or nurse or whatever to come care for me after the surgery as long as I live in a travel trailer. It is not considered a "home."
Also I have been approved for one of those scooter things but have about 30 days left to find a "real home" before I lose my chance at it. They will not deliver it to someone without proper space to use it.
Not to mention I need a regular home for my daughter with her own room and utilities that work and a roof that does not leak. I cannot even unpack everything because there is nowhere dry to put it so between that and my health I am living in filth. :(

I need a home, plain and simple. The landlord was going to let me buy an old 12x65 in good shape for nothing down and payments that combined with the lot rent would come out to what I am paying now.
Only difference is I would have to pay my own electric. Then the news came that my daughter was coming home and suddenly the trailer is no longer available.
We need a mobile home, house, ANYTHING in decent shape that we can buy CHEAP. I only get $694 a month SSI and SSD. That's IT and I have other bills too.
We DO have 3 wonderful kitties that we have had 9 years, 7 years and 4 years, respectively and a little bird in a cage. They all have impeccable house manners, never EVER go outside, are flea and tick free and FIXED!
So that's it, guys. We need a home and we need it very fast. Preferably on the Eastern side of Baton Rouge. I live in East Baton Rouge atm and the majority of my doctors, pharmacists etc are all in this are so I really want to stay this way if possible.
I live at the east end of Florida Blvd currently. I am not picky; the only thing I am terrified of is moving into a place infested with roaches lol. HATE those things. Snakes, spiders, purple man eating thinga-ma-jigs...all good. HATE roaches.
So can anyone help us please? I am not on drugs, I am not wanted...I can think of no reason at all why I would be an undesirable tenant/purchaser, whatever.
PLEASE don't play game with me; we need a place so badly and very quickly. I have told you what I make each month. I pay $350 now and would not be able to go more than that if I have to pay my own electric.
We would also have no a single stick of furniture if we get a place so anyone that has furniture in decent shape that they can spare, you would have my heartfelt thanks. Remember unless we get a place to go, I won't have room to take it yet, lol.
Most of what we own is in Kansas and I see no way we will ever be able to go get it and even then there was very little in the way of furniture. Mostly computer desks and a bookcase, is all. The rest is personal things...pictures, dishes, clothes, books, etc.
