A TRANQUIL 1980's ORIGINAL WATERCOLOR OF A FARMHOUSE LANDSCAPE -- ICONIC RED BARN IN WHICH YOU CAN ALMOST FEEL THE MIDWEST PLAINS WIND ON YOUR FACE Artist: Ingrid J. Meegan

REDUCED PRICE: $300 -- No PayPal payments or checks. Please don't ask. The Buyer will appear in person and pay in CASH ONLY.

GREAT Condition & LARGE Well-Framed Original Work -- After studying at the Art Institute of Chicago, Ingrid Meegan served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and then worked as a professional artist around the Danville, Indiana area until her death in 2001. She was nationally reknown, very active as a long-serving President of Hendricks County Art League in Indiana and is a much-collected Mid-American landscape artist. In this instance, Meegan has created a compelling, serene watercolor depicting an iconic farmhouse landscape with a red barn complete with lightning rods, a silo, windmill and other farm features -- all with the haunting absence of people. VERY striking. You will return to this lovely, original work time after time and find yourself wondering about this landscape and the folks who live there. Simply lovely -- it draws you in, which is what art is SUPPOSED to do.

VERY SHARP DETAILS PRESENT, NO DAMAGE, NO STAINS, NO DETRACTING DETERIORATION OF ANY TYPE, BEAUTIFULLY CUSTOME-FRAMED & MATTED -- THIS INTROSPECTIVE ORIGINAL ONE-OF-A-KIND PIECE "SPEAKS"

This awesome matted, well-framed original watercolor is NOT accomplished by some run-of-the-mill artist. Born in 1923 and trained in Chicago, Ingrid Meegan knew something of the haunting landscapes of the Mid-American plains. She captures a microcosm of that experience in all her work, which ended in 2001 with her death. So, sadly. . ...there will be NO MORE Meegans -- the few that are out there are IT. This watercolor was obtained years ago as an individual item and was already framed. Although the framing was neatly done, we had it reframed in a custom manner -- which ran almost $180 back when The Gipper was President. Time to let some of this stuff GO!
