Antique Oak Spool Cabinet Display Case -- c.1880-1910
Could be Also Used as a Distinctive Writing Desk
Distinctive hand-crafted wooden spool cabinet from Neville Plantation, Port Hudson, LA was used as a display case in an old country dry goods store near Spillman, LA with its drawers, slats and accessories completely intact. TOTALLY ORIGINAL, correct and right -- and find another one in this condition at this reduced price!
There are stenciled or hand-painted letters on the front, identifying the contents in each drawer from when it was set up in a store -- but those are slightly worn now, as seen in the pictures. All drawers are hand-made and dovetailed, with all original hardware and work great. The wood grain is just worn and lovely, a great old oaken patina.
