Slade Boats were built in Baton Rouge at their facility on Ardenwood Drive throughout the 1970's and into the 1980's. Offered under Slade's slogan of "A Boat For A Lifetime," they featured a STURDY welded aluminum construction designed to LAST THROUGH THE YEARS, coupled with iconic "square" headlights incorporated into the front of the boat, as shown in the pictures. This wonderful example of Slade's boat-building prowess proves their slogan is true -- this boat has been with us for a large share of the life of our family and it has LASTED. It is as tough today as the day we got it. A true CLASSIC and in GREAT shape.
NO LEAKS --- NO CRACKS -- NO RIVETS TO FAIL ---NO BROKEN OR DEFECTIVE WELDS -- ALL LIGHTS WORK
The original trailer comes with the boat and carried this tough proven vessel with NO worries. The interior of the boat has recently seen some of the old outdoor carpet replaced, all as noted in the pictures.
Length: 15 feet
This boat comes with an upgraded 1985 V115 HP Yamaha outboard, which was added in the late 1980's and which pushes this Slade like a scalded dog. The outboard has been recently tuned and runs great -- no issues. The long-shafted Minn Kota trolling motor in NEW from early 2016 and is foot-controlled, works great. It has less than 2 hours of use on it.
This Slade boat was acquired in 1980 or so and has been part of our hunting and fishing life ever since. For the last few years, though, it has not seen much use as newer boats have entered our inventory -- mostly for salt water and coastal fishing. Of course, the Slade wasn't made for that type of service and so, after 37 years, we are going to let this old warhorse go.
We have a current registration for the boat -- good through 2020 -- but not for the trailer. A clear Bill of Sale will allow the new owners to secure registration documents for both.
