Up for sale is my Custom Shop Martin D-18, an instrument built with interface with George Gruhn. I got it at Gruhn in Nashville in May of 2017. It's in pristine condition and comes with a high quality hard case. There are no issues to discuss so let's get to the good part: this is a rare and amazing guitar. The back and sides or made from 100-120 year old sinker mahogany from Costa Rica. Top is straight grained Adirondack spruce. Ebony fingerboard and bridge, abalone dots. 1 3/4" nut width. Waverly tuners. The result, which hit me hard enough that I bought it without having really planned to do so ahead of time, is a guitar which looks awesome and sounds awesome. Bright, deep, sparkly, with bark. Finger picked or with a pick. Bracing and neck profile are from the Golden Age designs. It's a real deal mahogany dreadnaught with a complexity of tone far beyond its build date.
This guitar is up for sale because of other guitar moves I am making. I don't need to sell it, will not entertain low balls, don't want to trade, and it's cash only. It also will be offered on other websites and through word of mouth.
