This is an early 1966 Guild Starfire bass with a maple body and short-scale (30 1/2") mahogany neck. Has the Chesterfield inlay with three-black stripes; a typical 1960s feature. The finger rests are level with each other. Chesterfield inlay and front and back body binding.
The pickup is a Hagstrom Bi-Sonic single coil and is situated at the bridge position.
The Sunburst body has the three-ply (white/black/white) body binding front and back.
The neck is unbound, though where the body meets the neck, the binding also extends to a heel cap. Tuning keys are open gear nickel 538 Klusons.
With a 30 1/2" scale on its rosewood finger-board, this bass has a long, slender Starfire neck made of Peruvian mahogany reinforced by an adjustable steel neck rod. Its extra-thin ivoroid-bound body is 16 3/8" wide, 20 1/4" long and 2" deep.
Other features include separate tone and volume controls. Strung with Thomastik-Enfeld JF324 Jazz Nickel Flat Wound Short Scale (43-106) strings.
Comes with original Guild case.
