If you want to do podcasts on location, you only need to add a recorder. This package includes 6 mics and a portable mixer. Plus some goodies to make it easy, and you look more professional! The shotgun mic alone is worth more than the entire package. I don't need this gear anymore and need it gone.
This kit was used for many remote productions, mainly for mixing interviews into stereo and feeding into a camera via wire or wireless.
This package has been tested with new batteries, and those batteries remain in the mics for your own testing - just bring your own headphones! ‘Things you need to know’ are included in the descriptions. Please note the purchase price for this entire set is less than the price of the mics alone!
Because there’s so much gear here, I will not ship it. Local BR area delivery only. Or come test it and pick it up, as I am in the Denham Springs area. Will be happy to host you or meet halfway somewhere. I accept cash, Venmo, or Paypal.
I will answer queries in the order they are received. If this ad is still up, it has not been sold.
THANK YOU for giving this analog audio gear a continuing purpose in this digital age!
Audio Technica AT 4462 Field Production Mixer
(Discontinued - $250 now on Ebay) Great for Remote Audio! Stereo / mono capable. 4 XLR mic/line inputs. 2 XLR mic/line outputs. Phantom power (called ‘Mic Power” on the mixer is available. Runs on 3 9V batteries. Mixer comes with a wall-wart power supply for shore power, and can go totally portable with 3 9V batteries. (Note- this mixer is pretty intensive on using 9V batteries, so bring several if you go portable.)
PSC Mic Boom ($600 new) A workhorse that has seen some heavy use and still works! Coiled XLR cable inside the boom, ending at XLR-F inside the handle base. Boom has a Universal mic mount (with rubber band shock absorbers) at the head end. Boom has 5 18” sections, but some of the rotary clutches are ‘stuck.’ I don’t want to try and break them free at risk of damaging the pole – that’s for the new owner to try!! Current working length is 5’
(2) Tram Gray Omni Lavalier Mics (believed to be TR-50) ($200 ea new) Both mics have plastic windscreens with gray foam. Includes 2 tie-tac clips, 1 tie-bar mount. They only use 357 (SR44W/313) watch type batteries. THESE MICS DO NOT TAKE PHANTOM POWER! Both mics come in hard cases and have never been used, but sounded great in my tests. Both have XLR-F Connectors.
(1) Sony ECM-77B Omni Black Lavalier Mic ($300 new) A TV workhorse! Mic has a black clothing clip, but no windscreen. Requires 48V phantom power or 2 AA batteries. Comes with XLR-F Connector. (Cable was broken then repaired. The repair used a piece of electrical tape midway down the cord. Mic was put aside because a long-left AA battery had started to leak, but that has been rectified. Cleaned it up a bit, tested it and works fine! The ownership engraving of a previous owner has been sanded off – not by me.)
(1) Panasonic AG-MC200 Short Shotgun Mic ($550 new) Used mainly as a backup in case a main shotgun failed. This comes with a foam windscreen and XLR-F plug. Mic takes 48V phantom power. This is the mic shown in the boom picture!
(2) Countryman B3 Omni Lavalier Mics ($200ea. new) Come with foam windscreen and full set of Countryman capsule protection grids to protect mic from sweat and shape the sound (manufacturer documentation on this is included). Each comes in its own semi-soft case. Both mics are black with white (!) clothing clips. (PLEASE READ: These mics work fine with this mixer!! They do NOT work with 48v phantom power!! They can be powered by some wireless bodypack xmitters which typically provide 3-12v. If you need standard phantom power, you’ll need a separate power supply that can adapt that voltage. voltage – it is not included here. The ownership engraving of a previous owner has been sanded off – not by me.)
Beachtek DXA Micro-Pro Audio Adapter For DSLRs and Camcorders ($95 new) Adapts ¼ TRS output of Portable Mixer down to 3.5mm input of DSLRs. Uses one 9V battery. Comes with 3.5mm TRS connector cable, male on both ends for wiring to a DSLR. This was purchased for a project that never came about.
